SitePerfector vs Semrush
Semrush is a keyword, backlink and PPC database. SitePerfector reads your market and tells you which page to write next.
SitePerfector is not a replacement for the Semrush keyword, backlink or PPC database, and it is not trying to be. It does the step after the lookup: it reads the live search results for your market, clusters them into a topic tree, lays your existing pages over that tree, and names the next page to write. If what you came for is cheaper keyword or link data, stay with Semrush.

Who each one is for
Semrush
SEO data suite
Agencies, in-house teams and consultants who want one login for keyword research, backlinks, paid search, local search, rank tracking and client reporting. Semrush describes itself as the platform to grow and measure brand visibility across every digital channel, and its product menu lists eleven toolkits. Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on 28 April 2026.
SitePerfector
Topic-first SEO
Site owners and small teams who have a site and a subject but no plan. The open question is which pages are worth building, in what order, and why. SitePerfector answers that, then gives you a blueprint for each page it puts on the list.
How the two approaches differ
Keyword tools hand you data and leave the decision to you. Topic-first SEO hands you a decision, with the reason and the competitors named. The method itself is explained in Topic-first SEO: what it is and why it works. This page only shows the contrast.
Semrush
You start with
You start with a keyword list: volume, CPC, intent, a difficulty score, and every term your competitors rank for. Sorting those rows into a plan is your work.
You publish
You publish whatever you picked out of the rows. The Content Toolkit will brief and draft it for a separate $60 a month, but choosing what to write stays your job.
What you get
- ✕You end up with rows to sort, and the decision about what to publish is still yours to make.
- ✕Keyword Difficulty is built from the backlink profiles of the current top ten, so it describes domain strength rather than the kind of page that ranks.
- ✕Nothing in the suite lays your existing pages over demand and shows you what you have not covered.
- ✕The content workflow is a separate $60 a month on top of the plan you already pay for.
SitePerfector
You start with
You start with your market, read from live search results and clustered into themes, topics and pages. Up to 1,500 keyword ideas are vetted per map and around a hundred earn a place, and you can see what was set aside and why.
You publish
You publish the page the map puts next, from a blueprint built out of the pages that rank today and the questions they leave unanswered. You write it yourself, edit an AI draft, or hand the brief to a writer.
What you get
- ✓You get a topic tree: themes, topics and pages, in the order worth building them.
- ✓Every topic carries a call, own it, build up to it or leave it, with the competing sites named.
- ✓Your own pages sit on the map, so you can see what is covered, what is missing and what already ranks.
- ✓Instead of a bought difficulty score, we read the live results page for each topic.

Facts about Semrush checked 3 Sep 2026 on their own pages. The sources are listed at the bottom of this page.
Three differences you can check
1.Semrush builds its difficulty score from backlinks. SitePerfector reads the results page for each topic.
Semrush calculates Keyword Difficulty from the backlink profiles and Authority Scores of the pages already in the top ten, plus volume, SERP features, branded status and word count. Their free Keyword Overview states it, and the blog explainer names all six factors. A backlink-weighted number tells you how strong those domains are. It does not tell you what kind of page is ranking, and on low-volume terms it is often not populated at all. In our own measurement, 8 of 400 long-tail keywords came back with a difficulty value. We read the live results for each topic instead, and name the sites you would be beating.
Open Keyword Overview, type a six or seven word phrase from your own niche, and read the difficulty cell. Then type harbor freight air compressor, which has 49,500 searches a month and returns a difficulty of 0.

2.Semrush gives you the data. SitePerfector gives you a decision on every topic.
Semrush is accurate about what exists: volume, CPC, intent, backlinks, ad copy and rank history. What it leaves to you is working out which rows belong on the same page, which of those pages your site can take, and which one to write on Monday. SitePerfector reads roughly 40,000 ranked positions per market map and comes back with a call on every topic: own it, build up to it, or leave it, with the competitors named. You can open any topic and read why it was ruled in or out.
Open the topic coverage map and the competitor landscape. Those two screens produce the call. In Semrush the nearest thing is a Keyword Magic filter you build and interpret yourself.

3.SitePerfector has no keyword, backlink or PPC database, and none is planned.
SitePerfector is not a replacement for the Semrush keyword, backlink or PPC database. We hold none of that data, at any price, and building a link index is a different business from ours. If you came here looking for cheaper backlink or ad data, stay with Semrush, or compare it against Ahrefs and Moz. If you already pay for Semrush, I would keep it for the lookups. One number worth having first: the Content Toolkit that turns Semrush data into pages is a separate $60 a month on top of the $139 plan, so the workflow a solo operator wants costs $199 a month.
Read the pricing page and add up your own setup: plan, Content Toolkit, extra seats, extra reports. Then read the Adobe announcement of the completed acquisition, which says what the product is being built for next.

When to choose Semrush, and when to choose SitePerfector
Choose Semrush if
- You need a keyword, backlink or paid-search lookup that answers for any term in any country.
- You are shopping for cheaper backlink data, which SitePerfector does not have, so keep Semrush or compare it with Ahrefs and Moz.
- You run an agency and want one login for SEO, paid search, local search and client reporting.
- You want AI prompt and mention tracking inside the same subscription.
Choose SitePerfector if
- You have a site and a subject, and the open question is which pages to build, in what order, and why.
- You want every recommendation to name the sites you would be beating, so you can check the call yourself.
- You looked up the difficulty score for your best long-tail terms and found the cell empty.
- You would rather have one decision a week than two thousand rows to sort.
Questions
Is SitePerfector a Semrush alternative?
For deciding what to publish, yes. For the databases, no. Semrush answers what exists and we answer what to do about it, so running both is a normal setup: the map here, the lookups there.
Does SitePerfector have backlink or PPC data?
No, and it is not on the roadmap. Building a backlink index is a different business from ours. If link data or ad data is what you need, keep Semrush or Ahrefs and use us for the part they leave to you.
Does SitePerfector track AI visibility like Semrush?
No. Semrush tracks prompts, mentions and sentiment inside its plans, and that reporting is real. Our position is that AI answers cite what ranks, so the work that gets you cited is the work that gets you ranked, and we would rather build the map than a second dashboard.
Can I use both?
Yes. Decide the page in SitePerfector, then look up whatever you need in Semrush. Nothing on either side stops you.
