SitePerfector vs Moz
Moz measures how strong the sites on page one are. SitePerfector tells you which page to write next.
SitePerfector is not a replacement for the Moz keyword or backlink database, and it does not try to be. It does the step after the numbers: it reads the live search results for your market, clusters them into a topic tree, lays your existing pages over that tree, and names the next page to write. If what you came for is cheaper authority or link data, stay with Moz.

Who each one is for
Moz
SEO data suite
Moz Pro describes itself as the go-to for beginner SEOs, the must-have for professionals and the powerhouse for enterprise. In practice it suits people who want authority metrics, link research and a gentle way in. Agencies and multi-location chains also buy Moz Local for listings and STAT for SERP tracking at scale.
SitePerfector
Topic-first SEO
Site owners and small teams who have a site and a subject but no plan. The open question is which pages are worth building, in what order, and why. SitePerfector answers that, then gives you a blueprint for each page it puts on the list.
How the two approaches differ
Keyword tools hand you data and leave the decision to you. Topic-first SEO hands you a decision, with the reason and the competitors named. The method itself is explained in Topic-first SEO: what it is and why it works. This page only shows the contrast.
Moz
You start with
You start with metrics: Domain Authority, Page Authority, Spam Score, Priority, Difficulty and Organic CTR, for every keyword on your list. Turning those numbers into a plan is your work.
You publish
You publish whatever you picked off the list. The $99 Standard plan includes two AI content briefs a month, and ten briefs a month costs $179.
What you get
- ✕You end up with metrics per keyword, and the decision about what to publish is still yours to make.
- ✕Difficulty is derived from the Domain and Page Authority of the results already ranking, so it measures the sites rather than the pages.
- ✕Nothing in Moz Pro lays your existing pages over demand and shows you what you have not covered.
- ✕The content step is rationed at two AI content briefs a month on the $99 plan.
SitePerfector
You start with
You start with your market, read from live search results and clustered into themes, topics and pages. Up to 1,500 keyword ideas are vetted per map and around a hundred earn a place, and you can see what was set aside and why.
You publish
You publish the page the map puts next, from a blueprint built out of the pages that rank today and the questions they leave unanswered. You write it yourself, edit an AI draft, or hand the brief to a writer.
What you get
- ✓You get a topic tree: themes, topics and pages, in the order worth building them.
- ✓Every topic carries a call, own it, build up to it or leave it, with the competing sites named.
- ✓Your own pages sit on the map, so you can see what is covered, what is missing and what already ranks.
- ✓Instead of a bought difficulty score, we read the live results page for each topic.

Facts about Moz checked 3 Sep 2026 on their own pages. The sources are listed at the bottom of this page.
Three differences you can check
1.Moz Difficulty is calculated from Domain and Page Authority. SitePerfector reads the results page for each topic.
Moz says Keyword Difficulty is built from "the Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA) scores of the results ranking on" page one (source). DA and PA are link-based, so Difficulty is a link score under another name. That answers how strong the sites up there are, not what kind of page is up there. On a long-tail results page holding a forum thread, a video and a product listing, none of those results won on authority. In our own measurement, 8 of 400 long-tail keywords came back with a difficulty value. We read the live results for each topic instead and name the sites you would be beating.
Type one long-tail phrase from your own niche into the free Keyword Difficulty tool and read the score, then look at the page-one results for the same phrase. Then try harbor freight air compressor, which has 49,500 searches a month and returns a difficulty of 0.

2.Moz gives you metrics per keyword. SitePerfector gives you a call on every topic.
Keyword Explorer returns Domain Authority, Page Authority, Spam Score, Priority, Difficulty and Organic CTR. That is six numbers per keyword, across as many keywords as you load, and turning them into a publishing plan is still work you do in a spreadsheet. SitePerfector reads roughly 40,000 ranked positions per market map and comes back with a call on every topic: own it, build up to it, or leave it, with the competing sites named. Your existing pages are laid over that map, so you can see what is covered, what serves no demand, and what already ranks without you knowing.
Open the topic coverage map and the competitor landscape. Those two screens produce the call. In Moz the nearest thing is a Keyword Explorer list you sort and interpret yourself.

3.SitePerfector has no link index, and the content step in Moz Pro is metered.
SitePerfector is not a replacement for the Moz keyword or backlink database, or for Moz Local or STAT. We hold none of it, at any price. If cheaper backlink data is what you came for, stay where you are. I would keep the Moz Learning Center open whatever tool you pay for, because that free curriculum is better than anything we will publish. Two costs to weigh on the other side: the $99 Standard plan includes two AI content briefs a month, with ten at $179 and fifty at $299, and the Moz help pages state that Moz "does not offer refunds of any kind per our Terms of Use".
Read the pricing page and check how many AI content briefs the plan you were considering includes. Then read the cancellation page before you enter a card.

When to choose Moz, and when to choose SitePerfector
Choose Moz if
- Domain Authority, Page Authority or link research is a real part of how you work.
- You are shopping for cheaper backlink data, which SitePerfector does not have, so stay with Moz or compare it with Semrush and Ahrefs.
- You manage local listings across several locations, or you need daily SERP tracking at enterprise scale.
- You are learning SEO and want the best free curriculum in the industry attached to your tool.
Choose SitePerfector if
- You have a site and a subject, and the open question is which pages to build, in what order, and why.
- You want every recommendation to name the sites you would be beating, so you can check the call yourself.
- You looked up the difficulty score for your best long-tail terms and found the cell empty.
- You want more than two briefs a month, and you want each one built from the live results.
Questions
Is SitePerfector a Moz alternative?
For deciding what to publish, yes. For authority metrics, link research, local listings or STAT, no. Moz answers how strong the competition is and we answer which page to write, so running both is a normal setup.
Does SitePerfector have Domain Authority or backlink data?
No. Moz invented the authority score and licenses that index to half the market, and we have nothing like it. If link data is what you need, keep Moz and use us for the part it leaves to you.
Does SitePerfector track AI visibility like Moz Pro?
No. Moz tracks prompts across four models inside its plans, and that reporting is real. Our position is that AI answers cite what ranks, so the work that gets you cited is the work that gets you ranked.
Can I use both?
Yes. Decide the page in SitePerfector, then check authority and links in Moz. Nothing on either side stops you.
